Congratulations to Germany on a truly amazing accomplishment. Leading the world in kindness and generosity for the people who need it the most.

  2. They’re legitimate refugees (as opposed to those from safe countries who game the system to falsly gain this status) and are therefore very welcome. Lets hope they go back when the war is over, would be tragic if Ukraine vanished because of depopulation. On the other hand, refugees who integrate are welcome to stay. The last part is important though.

  3. The willingness to take in ukranians was quite shocking to me. After 2015 where mostly arabic refugees from syria, Afghanistan etc. came i was sure Germany was just simply not a good place for refugees. I meam 2015, the rejection was so bad that it led to the Establishment of a new right wing party. The afd was very fringe and almost irrelevant until then.

Fast forward to 2022 and those same communities that were ready to burn down Flüchtlingsheime are now taking in ukranians *into their private homes*!

The reasons are manifold from shared soviet history to shared skin color. From germanies Fundamental disdain of islamic Treatment of women to most ukranian refugees being women.

I think the Ukraine story overall was a huge success. Germany suffers from massive workforce shortages in many sectors and from what I’ve heard, many ukranians have already been able to integrate into the work ecosystem.

    Glory to Ukraine 🇺🇦🇩🇪

  4. We really, really, desperately need more housing – affordable housing. This is going to be a huge problem and please, build skyscrapers ffs.
