Polls suggest they will struggle to return 2 out of 12 TDs
I can’t imagine why.
I think their position here makes a bit of sense:
> The Greens’ position is that it would make sense for the Coalition to wait until autumn and winter to roll out further universal energy support to households when utility bills are likely to be higher, with a focus on the most vulnerable households in the interim.
I want to block the greens from having any say whatsoever in anything to do with this country.
Read the article people, it’s an intentionally deceiving headline
Because their only ideas when it comes to green policy is to slap a tax on something and they’re uncomfortable with the idea of reducing the cost of something
People often mistake the greens for being a progressive party, they are far from it. They have no issue with people suffering for their ideology.
Climate change requires practical action, and the greens go out of their way to prove they aren’t fit to be involved.
Headline is incendiary but they’re in favour of targeted supports for those that need it.
I’m fortunate enough that I’m not relying on this support to keep the lights on, I’ll take it if it’s offered but if it’s redirected to someone who needs it more then that’s even better.
Fairly biased was of expressing it. The Greens want the payment to be *targetted* rather than universal; its clear that there is inequality in how the cost of living hits people, when some are skipping meals to pay for energy while others seem comfortable.
Click bait lads
Obviously, typical of the Indo to demonise the Greens.
But I’m not convinced that ‘targeted supports’ would be more effective than a universal credit. It smells of the false logic of means testing
There has been a certain arrogance in the greens since they got into power.
The greens are just champagne environmentalists.
Ah ye. Block the €200 electricity credit but offer a €5k grant on a €60k car…….no problem.
Sad that the most left leaning party in government are the ones displaying the most sense fiscally.
Greens can get fucked
Standard coalition stuff.
FG wants to give it to everyone (inc mlillionaires), the crusties want to give it to scroungers, FF are pretending their not involved in it, SF are shouting about how they’d give everyone double that, esp needy irish people, and the crazies are trying to shout about how the kilorglan to cahermurphy Road is in an awful shtate altogether now.
Yet they do literally zero to support people transitioning to greener energy sources.
Let’s tax those old cars to bits, need to work those cobalt miners hard.
Not even talking about the article but my most wasted vote ever was the greens absolutely useless bunch
If america and Russia could just stop their nonsense
That would be nice
Meanwhile, the energy companies are laughing their cocks off. The electricity credit solves nothing. You’re getting your own money back that you paid in tax, and it would be better off used for other public services. They should have looked at setting a cap on electricity prices/profits.
So sad that so many young people vote for these clowns. I myself did in my youth. These are posh elitists who don’t give a feck about the little man who might be struggling with a bill.
Well you sure cant accuse the greens of being populists…
Let’s waste hundreds of millions of taxpayers money for a once off “relief” that won’t actually fucking fix anything!
Government is a shambles, doesn’t matter which party, all clueless deluded gobshites.

Ah the Greens, looking to kill old people again
Jesus that’s a really misleading headline.
