Fella was probably doing the same shite he did for 50 years under previous ownership, give the product to long term customers on a tab. I went through this years ago in a pub, regulars for years drank beer and got smokes on “tomorrow ” basis, they always paid and the books always balanced, the funny thing is that nobody gets credit anymore unless they actually pay, it takes one person to not pay to stop the entire thing. 50 years of back pay and dude only gets 30,000.
Should have got alot more.
Modern day slave labour right there. Doesn’t matter if he loved his job, they took him for granted and should be fined accordingly.

it’s always depressing to hear about Irish people who are scumbags. Bceause employing a guy at slave wages in a business takes a scumbag; this couple are the worst; they probably have scumbag kids and came from scumbag families. There’s a strain of this kind of money-grubbing scumbaggery in Ireland

I met an aussie girl who worked in galway as an au pair for a couple who were solicitors. Hard her working every hour of the day like a slave and never paid her. There’s loads of people like this. Look how many people take advantage of renters.
