Looking for some insight if anyone can be of help.
Had my NCT last week and failed on my 4 tyres protruding the bodywork, it’s my first NCT with the car and only had the tyres replaced a couple of weeks ago. I’m guessing the place I bought from had put smaller alloys on when getting it tested. The space is about 1cm, probably less.
He said I could extend the bodywork or buy a cheap set on donedeal but none of them sound like a good option. Could I add something like [this](https://i.gyazo.com/25f732f4007d71eef109f8156f2cb395.png) instead?

Depends on the tester to be honest.
Anyone I know with this problem has a set of wheels for the test or gets a loan of a set for it.
Have you wheel spacers fitted or wider than oem wheels?
Swap wheels with a mate
Put some legal wheels on. Tyres that are too wide can fling road debris shooting out behind you.
