  1. How do you all know the guy is not Ukrainian or Gorgian or Armenian, but specifically Russian? He might be even Balt!

  2. People in this comment section are so dang negative. Just because Soviet soldiers did horrible things, doesn’t mean all of them. And whatever you think about the USSR, they played a huge role in defeating Germany. Otherwise, the war would have lasted longer, and worse, Germany could have won. Sometimes you have to team up with the lesser evil.

  3. It should have been a toilet as they took most of them back to USSR, same now in Ukrania, apparently there are few toilets there still. Hitler looks a bit beaten.

  4. Looking at that clean dress an smug face, I’d wager he’s NKVD, and those people weren’t exactly nice.

A Soviet defector, a veteran of WW II, was asked why they fought at the behest of Stalin, a murderous dictator on par with Hitler. He replied, if I have to fight for a dictator, it might as well be for the one that speaks my language.

  5. You guys have begun to forget what an important role the USSR played in World War II. The comments are very negative. Without the joint efforts of the Union and the Allies, Europe would be mired in Nazism

  6. The amount Nazi lovers in this sub is alarming.

You see men who have sacrificed half a decade at a war against Nazis and your immidiate knee jerk reaction is to call them rapists and thieves?

**Some of you have such a distorted view of wars that you think it’s some kind of vacation where 99% of your time isn’t living in dirt, being malnourished and having bombs dropped on your head.**

Those same Berliners you so much love to present as victims, were eating from silver spoons while **millions** of allied forces’ men were butchered on both fronts, and their wives and kids were under brutal occupation.

**Seeing cave dwelling Reddit goblins, creating negative narratives about men in WW2 photos, without having any context, is some of the most vile and disgusting behaviour I’ve seen online.**

A little humility and respect is necessary when talking about people who lived through those terrible times.

Your great grandfathers would be ashamed of you.

  7. Nothing more reddit than making up bad shit this guy supposedly did instead of celebrating him as the hero he was because of his nationality.

  8. That comment section hurts to read. Less reddit time and more school time would do a lot of people a lot of good it seems.
