I occasionally watch videos by [https://www.youtube.com/c/beneater](https://www.youtube.com/c/beneater) and I want to give it a try for myself. I already know breadboards are of varying quality, some suffering from wear and tear a lot more than others.
Can anyone recommend a place to buy quality materials? Preferably a physical shop in West or East Flanders, but an online shop is also fine.

Some online webshops I have used in the past: Digikey, Opencircuit, RScomponents, Mouser and Conrad. Farnell is also a popular one but requires a VAT-number.
RS and Conrad
Gotron in Gent.
Mec , Merksem
Sinuss
I get stuff from conrad online.

There are also the smaller hobby sized stores like https://www.kiwi-electronics.com/ or https://shop.mchobby.be/en/ who will give you a more “just looking around” feeling on their site.
If you are starting from 0, I would 100% recommend to just get something like an arduino starter kit (official one).
It’s not the best kit for all paths how far you will take the hobby. And it’s not the cheapest compared to Chinese kits.
What it does give is one of the best experiences for complete beginners. The best manual with plenty small projects to get you started. All components specific for those projects are in the box and of high quality.

If you like it, you will outgrow the kit but most parts like the arduino, display, breadboard, motors, leds or buttons will be reused in your own projects.
you could look at Ben Eater’s eshop: [https://eater.net/shop](https://eater.net/shop)
