Hello! I recently visited Estonia and made a documentary about the city of Narva. I wanted to share it with the Estonian community in Reddit. Just say that I had a great time during my visit throughout all the country and was amazed by the Estonian people. The docu has English subs. Thank you!

  1. I watched it and actually pretty good. But from your post title it seems that you are considering people in Narva “Estonian people” which could lead to some confusion distracting from the so maybe clear that in comments 🙂

  2. I watched the entire video and I think it’s quite decent. Narva is somewhat of an uncomfortable as well as controversial topic for Estonians and it’s certainly a tricky subject to tackle for a foreigner. I have never been to Narva myself so there were some interesting bits for me as well in there.

  3. You did it. I remember the first discussion here when you were planning it. In some ways it’s good you chose people from streets who are unknown for larger majority of Estonians, but also, it’s issue of credibility. I would have expected to see also comments from leading pro russian language people and local Estonians. Of course it’s understandable that it might be hard to acore an interview with people while being yourself a unknown journalist.

  4. Saying that Narva almost always had a Russian majority is literally whitewashing the Russian ethnic cleansing of the Estonian majority in the town…
