Guess this is the reason they already got in election mode.
Tragic to see how the cd&v went from the party of responsibility to desperately trying to chase every possible voter with whatever the idea of the day is.
Was to be expected. The collaboration between parties is just as bad as on the federal level.
Demir has been so blunt that she is not going to budge. Cd&v is in no position to give in and look weak again. Jambon is not strong and neutral enough to solve it.
>Het grootste conflict gaat over de verschillende regels voor landbouw en industrie. Voor die laatste is de drempel om een vergunning te krijgen zowat veertig keer soepeler.
This seems like an important point, it shines quite a different light. Instead of “CD&V desperately clinging to farmer’s votes” it’s more NVA pandering to corporations again.
then again, can anyone enlighten me on whether this is accurate and if not why?
Fucking start getting shit done. It’s high time to complete some of the election promises made
Every political party has their main demographic and their main moneyshooters.
For CD&V this is the farming industry and related people. Those groups are against this and CD&V is being the voice of that.
For N-VA this is big business who wants cheap and easy permits to do whatever the fuck they want, with no legal way to stop them. This includes activities that hurt farmers.
One could say: perfectly natural, this is representative government: they’re representing the people they represent.
Looking at the case a bit closer, we see they are defending a system that pollutes to an extent that cannot be maintained. And on the other hand, a system that gives big corps what they want with no resistance.
Many built rich empires on the back of this, and are fighting tooth and nail to keep it.
And in this case, the big moneyshooters of N-VA are going to hurt the big moneyshooters of CD&V. The fact that CD&V is against cleanup on pollution, while true, isn’t the onlything at play here.
Be it CD&V, N-VA or MR, in this scenario or another: the rich and powerful will always attempt to keep their position and the conditions that allow them to keep that position. If we do not fight back against this, we’re basically letting a select few with power have everything they want, no matter if that means poverty and death for everyone else.

4 months later, and here we are again
* no walloons
* no socialists
* no greens
and yet…
* no deal
But confederalism will fix everything. Trust us!
Did these fucktards really just take a week of vacation amidts this crisis? The fucking gall of these people.
You know what, I’m out of comments. I can’t name a single nva minister who does their properly (mainly thinking of Weyts, Demir and Jambon) and the worst part about this is that it pushes voters towards VB. We are fucked.

Edit: Found more specific elaboration (which isn’t behind a paywall) here, keep in mind this is a farmer oriented source so may be biased though: https://vilt.be/nl/nieuws/stikstof-is-stikstof-klopt-dat
