Sunak ‘risks full-scale trade war’ with Brussels by scrapping EU laws

  1. War? Nah, it will trigger safeguards in the treaty. Tariff’s and trade restrictions will be applied to the UK.

We know this. I can’t wait for the thickos to start whining about the big bad EU bullying them.

  2. Sunak is as we speak signing a major trade agreement with Antarctica, a much under-serviced Continent. So of course there is absolutely no need to trade with Europe.

    /s

  3. Doing as much damage as he can before Labour win the next election so the next bunch of Tories can blame Labour for ruining the country.

  4. > Letters from leading EU politicians, seen by the Observer, reveal deep concern that the UK is about to lower standards in areas such as environmental protection and workers’ rights

Here it comes… here it fuckin’ comes! 😬

  5. Tanking the economy twice in one parliament with two different prime ministers doesn’t sound like The Party of Fiscal Responsibility.

  6. That is what they want, their mouth breathing supporters want nothing less than a xenophobic inspired war against foreigners.

  7. If we scrap eu law we buy nothing from the eu… so dumb they’re actively working to destroy Britain

  8. War depicts some sort of even battle. This would result in a trade battering or trade slaughter.

Are the Tory party actively working for Putin?

  9. This is sensationalism. Even if UK companies are not required to comply with EU laws within the UK, they will be required to in order to sell their goods and services within the EU. It would be so awkward if UK companies sold higher quality products to the EU than domestically because of poor regulation of standards.

  10. Where are the National Crime Agency? Bring these in and watch the conservative criminals be given a one way ticket to prison. For a very long time.

  11. >It fears that if the UK abandons high social and environmental standards, its companies will have an unfair advantage over EU firms.

Well, at least Brussels is being honest that they think Brexit could put the UK economy at an advantage. Problem is the EU are always hypocritical, with Poland dumping chemicals in rivers and Bulgaria acting as the EU’s landfill where they incinerate toxic waste. There may be EU environmental standards in writing, but in practice they’re not enforced well at all.

  12. Full scale war, well since most of our and Europe’s tanks are now promised elsewhere, trade is probably the only thing we have left! 😉

  13. I hope they finish destroying this country for good and it breaks up. The people voted for this party for 12 years. You get what you deserve.

  14. This is the real purpose of Brexit. A bonfire of employment rights, environmental protections and goods standards is what the Tories have been wanting for years. Kiss goodbye to your annual leave entitlement and protection from instant dismal, rivers that aren’t full of sewage and knowing what’s actually in your food as that’s what this unelected government will have delivered by the end of the year.

  15. Ah the old ‘smoke and mirrors’ game. No Falklands available to get him out of the shit like Thatcher.
