I’m in a situation where I need a finnish phone number, but I’m not yet in Finland (will be soon). Are virtual numbers like these ([https://www.ringover.com/virtual-number-finland](https://www.ringover.com/virtual-number-finland)) worth it? Or is it worth getting a normal finnish number instead? Kiitos

EDIT: I understand why so many are assuming I’m a scammer… but I’m moving to Finland soon – my spouse got a job there. The auto-mod on this sub has removed my posts in the past for mentioning the word “moving” and so I tried to avoid it this time. Oh well.

For more info: I’m in a nearby country, and we aren’t going to be physically in Finland for another few weeks, but we were approved for residency. To apply for an apartment, I need to verify my ID, and that usually is through bank accounts. I obviously don’t have a Finnish bank account, because I don’t have the government-issued IDs yet. But there are mobile authentication options, and I was wondering if services like the one above is a viable way to get a phone number quickly while still outside Finland.

Or, should I interpret everyone’s suspicion here as enough of a reason to believe that this isn’t going to work out until I’m physically in Finland? Lol.

  1. This sounds a lot like a scammer who found out that most Finns don’t answer random numbers from other countries.
