I’m also a londoner looking to move to Germany next month on the jobseekers visa, irritating news today about having to quarantine. Filling out the paperwork now, useful to hear some of the pitfalls.
Would have been much easier to just come as a visitor and then find a job. Then you would have only needed to apply for the residence permit from within Germany. I don’t see much point (except an extra 3 months to find work) of getting a VISA unless you have already secured work. The only benefit of having one is that you can work before the residence permit but in your situation you’ll just be a jobseeker anyway.
