It’s sad that it took 100 000 dead for them to do it
Everyone other than Turkey and Hungary finished over 4 months ago.
Hopefully Russia’s insane departure from Start II makes us all remember how important solidarity in NATO is. Even if Turkey doesn’t like Sweden, it is another target for Russian nuclear weapons that won’t hit Turkey.
I’ll believe it when I see it. Its still gonna be down the US and how it decides to apply carrots or sticks.
Erdogan: “Burning our holy book is a crime against all muslims!”
Money: * exists *
Erdogan: “Then again, I am not THAT religious”
Guessing the US state department was twisting some arms, so to speak.
what did they promise to erdogan in return? a boost for upcoming elections? disgusting.
I don’t think Erdoğan cares about Sweden. He’s probably looking for a deal with the US, maybe to turn a blind eye on the coup/scam he’s planning in the upcoming elections, in exchange for doing whatever the US wants.
I am going on an hyperbole here, but it is not a crazy idea. The US has done it many times before.
I don’t think that’s a smart move with the elections coming up.
Erdogan probably got something out for him in return, something he can sell as win for inner politics to get upwind for the next election. I think he gambled on that from the beginning. A move from the bazaar handbook.
I’m very sceptical that that’s actually going to happen.
Blinken visits and now they see clearly. Perfectly clearly.
