Seven THOUSAND calls since Sept 2020. That means he’s at home ringing 999 ten times roughly every single night for years. How the fuck did that go on for so long
So he has led a blame free life well into old age. Then suddenly at the age of 74 he starts calling the emergency services 10 times a day.
Really sounds like some kind of mental health issue.
The man needs mental health treatment. I doubt prison will provide that.
The fact he wasn’t treated over 2 years ago is a sign of both a dysfunctional police force and health service.
I think I’m going to get to speak to him on the Samaritans lines soon. Phone calls to samaritans from prison are unlimited, and we always answer.
He’s now being moved to another prison due to constantly calling the prison officers.

OAP with probable dementia makes too many phone calls to 999 – 39 months in prison?!
Really? If he needed a prison sentence then surely a few months would more than do the job. And it’s almost certain he needs mental health help to get better rather than time behind bars. Bizarre story all round.
I wonder if his behaviour was connected to: a head injury, anger management problems, being lonely & wanting attention, dementia, undiagnosed mental health issues or something else.
I understand you want to stop him but shouldn’t you start with like a week in custody? Then if he doesn’t start take it up from there?
Anyone tldr? Were they actually being a cunt or was there mental health or age related things at play?
This country’s justice system is fucked up. Yesterday, there was a woman who avoided jail despite biting a bloke’s nose off, yet here we are banging up a sad, lonely, mentally ill pensioner for making phone calls? How is jailing this guy going to achieve anything at all? He’s no threat to anybody. What he needs is help and social care, not a fucking prison cell.
This person is a murderer. If you don’t understand what I am saying you need to get real and inform yourself about the situation in the UK

Clearly suffering from either mental health problems, neurological disease, or just loneliness. And the solution is to lock him up for a couple years ? Disgraceful.
Am I being thick but why wasn’t his number just flagged and blocked. He’s a pensioner not a criminal mastermind with burner phones.
