I’ve a few mates who went from no coke to always coke over the past 18 months. It reminded me of being 16 when people started drinking. It went from being a social treat to a social necessity in weeks. Now I can’t even get a pint on a Saturday afternoon without a few either talking about the last time they were on coke, or planning the next time they’ll be on coke. Maybe I’m the dry shite, but it’s just boring me.

Bag of coke + slab of cans is about the same as a night out. Not advocating it but I’ve had far better sessions just in the gaff with that combo
Met up with a bunch of lads recently and every one of them was on the bag. Conversation was a bit dry because it didn’t feel like I was talking to the real them, just their coked up selves.
Notable mention to the lad as he was taking a bump in the pub said: “Am I fuck getting the vaccine! I’m not putting that shit in me, you don’t know what’s in it……….**SNIFF!!!!**”

It’d be interesting to see some actual modern statistics on this as every single time a post like this come up you have people swearing up and down that absolutely everyone in the country is on it and it’s absolutely everywhere.
Yet statistics over the years show that it’s an extraordinarily small minority of people in the country engage in drug use like cocaine with anything even remotely resembling regularity.
I’ve never openly seen it in a pub or nightclub and the majority of my friends and acquaintances have never even touched the stuff. In my experience it’s genuinely rare and I go out fairly regularly and have a fairly wide social circle.
I’d be surprised to see that it just so happens that all of the people I hang out with don’t do drugs but maybe it’s just reflective of the kind of company people keep.
Now, those toilets are in a public part of the complex and would be more likely to be used by journalists and visitors rather than TDs
The worse ballyfermot gets the more we need to focus on catching people who are not hurting anyone. Cant be afraid of little scumbags if all your resources are used up pestering the people who are working themselves to death to pay for all the bailouts.
