  1. I hope hildegarde realises how lucky she is that she didn’t get caught with that cannabis. She would never have been able to be a teacher if she did.

As someone who has received criminal convictions for cannabis use it’s great to hear politicians admit to using it.

  2. Wow, what a revelation, a human being who is now a politician did an illicit substance when they were younger, big fucking whoop.

Can we get around to decriminalizing already?

  3. When politicians do shit like this it makes me hate them even more. If you support carceral sentences for drug possession and you have taken drugs, you’re a coward and a hypocrite. Unless you can make me believe that, if they could go back and convict you over it, you would take your punishment on the chin. Otherwise you’re a slimy piece of shit who is trying to appease both the “drugs are bad mkay” pensioners, and the cool kids who still smoke weed. It doesn’t work.

  4. Did she own up to banging crusties she met on shop street in the back of a van where all the illegal fishing tackle is kept, high as a kite?

  5. I don’t see what the issue is there, regardless of her politics. Most people have tried it or worse, and vast majority stick to drink and leave it at that. I’d be more worried if she denied ever trying anything.

  6. PR exercise to soften up the core conservative FG base in anticipation of legalising cannabis.

Such a song and dance. Just legislate already and free up Garda time for serious crime.
