  1. Looking at the article Anne Heche was one of the people featured in the tribute. I don’t recognise the name and I had to google her name, still don’t recognise her and can’t think of anything she has been in.

Bernard Cribbins was a household name to millions and he had been nominated for a BAFTA award.

    Edit: Typos

  2. Bernard Cribbins was in the **film** “Daleks Invasion Earth 2150 A.D.” 1966. He played companion Tom Campbell with Peter Cushing as the Doctor.

The other companions were Susan portrayed by Roberta Tovey and Louise portrayed by Jill Curzon.

  3. I think they’ve made the mistake of seeing him as more of a TV actor than a film actor. Hopefully they’ll fix when the TV BAFTA’s come round because if ever an English actor was worthy of note then he is.

  4. It’s an absolute disgrace that such a well loved and respected actor has been ignored. He was and is a national treasure.

  5. It’s criminal. 0ver 30 movies, over 30 TV series and shows including The Plank with Eric Sykes, Dr Who, numerous stage shows, two top 10 singles, loads of narrations and voice parts inc 60 episodes of The Wombles, the band Right Said Fred were named after one of his top 10 singles. (Funny, when I put Wombles in it auto corrected to Wimbledon!)

  6. Bafta weren’t going to rough the place up with an actor from a working-class background, heaven forfend

  7. You’d think his part in the Railway children would mean he’d be recognised for film as well as tv. Does it really have to be one or the other?
