Switzerland has 1,040 metric tons of gold in reserve, the 7th highest amount in the world

  1. That’s why I never understand, that they took the worth of our money away from the gold. I mean, that the Swiss Franc is not bound to the goldreserves.
    So they can make with our currency what they want.

  2. Used to be 2600 metric tons in the 80s. The SNB sold a lot in the early 2000s.

    Around 30% of the remaining 1040 tons is stored in Canada and England. The SNB in return also hosts foreign gold for other countries (insert Nazi gold joke here).
