Baltic Sea itself is pretty polluted – for many reasons, two of them being shipwrecks from WW2 and difficult access to rest of the ocean.
We are obviously being discriminated against.

Eurostat methodology differs from the polish definitions. Eurostat takes the percentage of bathing waters rated at least “good” from all bathing waters, including the untested ones.
The authorities test only registered bathing sites (kąpieliska) and there is the difference – not every bathing water body is a registered bathing site, in fact very few are.

Poland is big agriculture producer. We also have bigest rivers going into Baltic Sea. They transport a lot of potasium and phosforus.
Baltic is closed sea and the lest saline in the world. So al the polutants stay in.
We don’t use most of our potential swimming sites. Not tested on this map pops up as polluted.
