CCTV shows killer Jake Davison attacking two children

  1. I’m a Police Officer. The shite I’ve just read about the Police being sorry, lessons being learned, more robust procedures etc etc is absolutely infuriating. An innocent 15 year old kid was sparked out by a licenced firearms owner, statements and CCTV would have been available to view by the firearms licencing officer. I don’t understand how anyone could come to a decision to hand back his guns / licence. Threat, harm and risk. It’s always a worse case scenario. I can only begin to imagine the pain of having a child shot dead. Sickening. I’ve argued on this and many subs defending the Police but in this instance I’m shocked that an avoidable mistake has resulted in so many deaths and no one is being held accountable. Rant over.

  2. Yeah, looking at that he never should have had his guns back.

I wasn’t aware of the full context before, and would have tended towards not giving them back regardless, but he’s clearly lost his rag after a couple of insults were thrown his way and brutally beat them up. The decision maker who authorised the return should probably lose their job.

  3. Firearms licensing teams up and down the country are running on utterly skeleton crews – I had reason to be in their office and they had 2 people for the whole county.

My dad was a shotgun holder and he had NEVER been visited to check his safe. All was well, in fact he couldn’t even remember where the key was… But what if?

  4. Said this last time, and I’ll say it again. There are people quite literally in prison for similar assaults and this guy gets given a fucking leaflet, and his shotgun back.
