I wouldn’t say Curly Wurlies or Fruit Pastilles are Irish. Same for the mints, which I wouldn’t call a snack either.
Snax are gone shite now, they’re not the crisp they once were. Solid selection all the same (excluding the XXX mints – wtf?)
To be fair if you eat the Snax you’ll need the mints, those things honk
Choked on one of the XXX mints when I was a wain and nearly died… Good times, good times.
Purple Snack – score!
I think you did pretty well. Not sure how Irish mints are but I enjoy enjoy them.
I thought those mints were decommissioned in the 80s
You need to bit opposite cor ers off the purple snack and use it as a straw to drink your tea, once it melts from the inside its another level of amazing.
Make sure the Curly Wurly hasn’t been in the fridge for too long; those things are like biting into cement when they’re cold but quite tasty when they’re soft.
The purple snack is great alongside a cup of tea – if you’re feeling adventurous you can dunk it in so the chocolate melts a little. (And if you’re just completely nuts, sure dip the Curly Wurly in as well and see)
XXX are just strong mints, I’d imagine every country has some version.
And same with Fruit Pastilles, they’re nice but they’re a chewy fruity sweet, fairly generic.
A lot of criticism will come for the crisps; they both used to have a far stronger flavour for both of them but I’d say most people could say that for most snacks these days (they’re smaller, taste different, look different etc.)
My own personal opinion would be to swap Snax and Chipsticks for Banshee Bones and Rancheros and I think you’d have a great selection, but this is still some fun choices for sure.
Fully sure Cadburys is British
Chipsticks are yum, the rest are blah. Try and score a Tayto Cheese and Onion bag of crisps. Chocolate bar wise – Yellow Cadbury’s Snack, Galaxy caramel, Crunchie or a Twix would make me happy.
Feck it, I’ll have to go out and get a CurlyWurly now…
The two shittest types of Tayto in existence.
I think if I received bloody fruit pastilles and extra strong mints, I’d sue.
Nah but in all seriousness, snax are a childhood favourite of mine, despite the changes that have happened to them. Chipsticks were always my least favourite, but nowadays I’ve come around to them and would gladly eat a bag.
Curly wurly’s are always a solid one. Good bar. Sometimes they can be so hard to bite into though. I’d never eat one in winter for that reason. Gotta let em warm up.
How much are you paying for these? I’d have expected a monthly box to come with much more than this. Although I guess it’s not supposed to last the whole month lmao.
If you can pick and choose what you get, look out for Tayto’s Thai Spicy Rings crisps. I think the main reason I like them is just the design of the bag, but they’re a good bag of crisps and they’re always really full. The flavouring absolutely burns the mouth off me though so I might be allergic. Mighty Munch are good too. I’d stay away from Hunky Dory’s though. Always hated them.
Surprised there was no cheese and onion tayto.
Star bars are absolutely savage.
I miss Tayto Cheese n Onion! A staple of my 1960s childhood growing up in Crumlin
Where’s the bread and butter?
no snickers
Love wiggly wiggly woo bars
O Donnelly crips are the job
Chipstix, curlywirly and purple snack. The trifecta…. Could perhaps compete with monster munch, stingers ans wham bars… Not sure you can get the last 2 anymore though

What’s a monthly international snack box?
