Pls help, is this a common Polish design that you can find in every corner?

  1. I recently bought these glass holders in Hungary and found out that these are (or at least similar to) Jozefina Krosno’s pieces. Now I wonder if these might be original or it was a trend back in the ‘80s and you can find a lot of these designs in Poland and it’s not even unique. Thank you!

  2. It’s not common anymore. I’ve seen them, but they are more like antiques rn.

  3. Not really. I recall it being semi-popular a couple decades ago, but haven’t seen it on sale for a while. At least some of these used to be produced by Huta Szkła “Józefina” under Krosno branding. Might be sold described as “Józefina” or “Krosno” .

  4. 20-30 years ago it might be quite common but not anymore. I remember the one like that on the right hand side stained in black-burgundy from my home. My mom used to keep Chlorophytum in it.

  5. Maybe in 70’s or 80’s. These days it would be considered kitch.

  6. I think they were a novelty item in the 80’s and 90’s 🙂 I can recall seeing some of these 25 years ago like displayed on top of the shelf or cupboard, but they mostly disappeared in early 2000’s. When people say “nobody acknowledges how gray and brown the 80’s/90’s were” this is the sort of decorations they have in mind when saying that xD In Poland the most popular type hovewer was the “kryształy” like special cut glass items, google “kryształy z PRL”;) A bit later came the ones you have n your photo, like artistic glass, closer to 90’s.

  7. Check out group “Uwaga Szkło!” on FB, they’ll help you identify it. If you scroll through the Krosno tag you’ll probably find a backstory or two about the glassworks

  8. Late 90’ early 2000’s decor trend. “Common” and kitschy. Nothing specific to Poland though.

  9. I remember both my grandmas had a few of those each, so they could have been popular maybe 50 to 60 years ago. Haven’t seen them at all in homes of later generations.

  10. Short answer. No
Long answer. I don’t know but no

  11. I’ve seen something like this in my late great grandmother’s house, I think.

  12. Such glass thingies were popular in the 90s. Especially ugly ass fish.

  13. Its not common, but if it breaks it will be in every corner.

  15. We had/have the teal one in a different color!
    Edit: spelling

  16. yes, I dine from it on daily basis. Its nightmare to clean tho

  17. Not common nowadays but you will find those in just about any vintage shop.

  18. I have the one on the left in dark blue, but yours is way prettier! As far as I know they’re not made anymore and are most likely vintage

  19. They aren’t common. These classify as antiques now and can sell for a really nice buck.
    Keep them tho, they’re cool
