Yes, in Sweden. Also, cucumbers are 3€ in some stors now.
Today they where 1.35 euro in holland
Are these paprika… individually wrapped in plastic??? That’s an abomination 😨

In the UK, our shelves are empty of certain fruit and vegetables, it has nothing to do with Brexit apparently, as our government supporting media tells us the whole of Europe is like that!
Any Europeans care to confirm or deny this?
It must be because of all the plastic they use to pack them 😁.
Are biodegradable gloves to pick up veggies not a thing outside Italy?
Obviously it’s not the farmer upping the cost of the vegetables …it’s the price of oil going up so much that the plastic manufacturers couldn’t afford to individually wrap all the veg otherwise…! /s
That is 9.99 €/kg and it is actually normal price always at this time a year.
🇨🇭 Everything here has always been expensive
You realize thats per kg, not per single Paprika right?
Winter isn’t the right season for bell pepper. They come from afar thus are more expensive, let alone the price of the plastic wrapper.
Because lots of people touch them and using gloves is more hygienic.
the real question is why are they packaged individually in plastic
€7-€7.5 here in Ukraine, probably cause it’s local grown and without ridiculous individual packing. Everything become more pricey here, but that makes sense considering the risks and how many businesses suffers due to aggression. The biggest poultry farm looted by Russians, coca-cola plant blown and etc.
Was shopping today in Germany and a Paprika Mix (500g, one red, one green, one yellow), is going for 3,99. I’ve never ever seen it that high, and it came out of the blue. Last week they were 1,29
I can assure you that there are places with higher price spikes 🙂
I don’t often look at prices or keep them in my head but saw someone online complaining that a cucumber was 2.50€. I was also at the shop today and saw that in my local Lidl there were Cucumbers for 2€. I would think that’s a bit high.
5 euros in Moldova. The salaries though….
That is an unholy use of plastic. And per your question: yes damn near everywhere in the west. Due to an ongoing cost of living crisis that is slowly turning me into an anarchist
So, I guess those peppers come from Spain too, I don’t know what justifies those 7€ more.
The farmer probably got 50 cents per Kilo
You’re gonna wash the vegetables before you use them so why individually wrap them in plastic. What a waste
5 euros in the Balkans
Thats ridiculously high and why are they wrapped in plastic
why theyre wrapped
I mean, cucumbers are at 2€ a piece here, but 10€ for a kg of bell peppers sounds dystopian
when you can’t read.. it’s not 9.99 per one
About €3.40/kg in the UK right now. So about a third the price of this photo…
Don’t eat pepper in winter, don’t eat vegetable wrapped in plastic, whatever the price. What fucking boring distopia is this ?
Where in the UK are you? I’ve been into a small Tesco, a Lidl and a Waitrose this week and there were no gaps in the shelves. I have my main shop delivered by Tesco and all my fruit and veg was there, [inc my usual two cucumbers and six packs of tomatoes](https://imgur.com/a/jfvzV3j) (three varieties). No subs, nothing missing, but that’s normal anyway.
In Finland these are imported. Our logistics and ports are on strike. My local store ran out of bananas
Why do you wrap your peppers?
bio quality red bell pepper packs of 3 go for 5€ max in german grocery stores (non-fancy ones). I mostly buy those with a green and a yellow one in it, which for for about 2-3€ max
Right now in Poland, 3 paprikas (three pcs, not three kg) are worth 1 hour of minimum wage.
Finland has gone insane with the prices. Been away 10 years, could not afford to live there anymore. Cost of living, food, everything. You get taxed to death and can’t even get doctors appointment if needed.

People wondered the sudden high prices of bell peppers [already in 2021](https://www.mtvuutiset.fi/makuja/artikkeli/oletko-jo-ihmetellyt-miksi-paprikan-kilohinta-on-noussut-niin-jarjettomasti-tassa-syy/8103136#gs.r2amf5). And in 2010. Then they said it was because demand and supply issues.
