Turns out smiling ear to ear when the family walks in is a big no no in a funeral home..
Smells like a lawsuit. Discrimination 101. This is exactly the same as firing someone because of race, handicap, religion etc.
We can all pretend we live in a perfect world where looks don’t matter, but that’s just not the case. Especially personal hygiene (or the appearance thereof) is high on the list of attributes people are judged by. I can imagine that if you’re applying for a sales position or any position that involves a lot of contact with potential customers, a detail like that would be important for your future employer, and leaving it out or masking it (literally in this case) is just disingenuous.
Last year, I had lost my 2 upper-front teeth. Luckily, I was unemployed at the time. Explained my situation to the VDAB, and they agreed to give me 1 month extra time for my targets, so I could get my implants. They understood that there is no way for me to get a decent job with that mouth. Nobody saw my mouth during that month.

Waarschijnlijk heeft die baas gewoon een probleem met schone vrouwen. 😉
