My favourite fort in Ireland. Dún Aonghasa (Fort of Aonghas) a Gaelic god, built thousands of years ago. It overlooks thecliffs of Inis Mór on the Aran Islands. It has also been traditionally associated with the Fir Bolg race. You feel really like you’re on the edge of Europe given its location.

Did you take those pictures yourself?
For those who were curious like me:
“The original shape was presumably oval or D-shaped but parts of the cliff and fort have since collapsed into the sea. ”

Reminds me of that fortified village from Asterix and Obelix.
> Fir Bolg *race*
I don’t know man
The Aran Islands are beautiful. I also encountered a nice fort facing the ocean, though not this one.
For a moment there, I thought I was on the dnd sub, lol.
Nice pictures.
I was there!! We crawled all the way to the edge, crazy stuff.
From the land of the Milesian race, we too have the like, supposedly inherited by the local gaels (galegos) from the people before.
Check ‘Castro de Baroña’, one of my favorites, surrounded by the sea except fro a narrow isthmus.
