Can you see a transaction number or something else that would identify this payment?
You will have to call the support hotline or send an E-Mail, theres no way we can say for sure why the SBB sent you money.
Just let the money sit in your account for a while, if nobody asks for the money back in a few month you should be fine
Guess: someone will contact you by mail and claim this was an error and give you instructions to send it somewhere.
if you suspect this is part of a scam ask the police or a lawyer.
Isn’t that about the amount that the SBB rebated to people who had a second-class GA (Generabonnement, AG in French) at the beginning of the Covid shutdown and who renewed on time it as if there had been no shutdown? I don’t know where the extra 8 Francs came from, perhaps interest.
Seems weird.
1: All SBB Adresses in Bern are 3000 Bern-65, not the actual ZIP of the Neighbourhood
2: Headquarters (or any other part) of Personenverkehr division is not (and never was) at Hilfikerstrasse 1
Call your bank mistakes often happen.
