  1. Why is it “despite”?

Bicycles are a pretty good tool for transportation in mountainous terrain. “Mountainbike” is a thing after all…

  2. What do you mean “despite”? A bicycle is a good way to travel on mountain paths and roads that may be partially blocked by snow or rocks, and it is more easily concealable than a bigger mean of transportation (which is relevant to the swiss defense strategy). It’s also immune to the lack of fuel (relevant because Switzerland has to import it all), though I guess they could have electric bikes now.

I guess you are referring to how exhausting it is to bike in mountains, but soldiers will get tired anyway.

  3. This is great for mountainous regions like Switzerland. Trying to ride around a corner in a flat country like the Netherlands, that bag in the middle will get you blown half across the road as it will act as a sail.

  4. Believe it or not, but the entire country does not tilt at a 45 degree angle, most of the vital parts are not placed on the summit of alps.

  5. Wow. Gorgeous saddle. This kind of saddle is the greatest bike saddle I’ve ever had. Not joking. There is nothing more comfortable for seating on regular bike.
