Pro-russian folk started to bring bouquets to this destroyed russian tank, so Vilnius city municipality put out a trash bin for “flowers, candles and soviet nostalgia”

  1. In germany the Pro-Russia protest did the same with the tank infront of the russian embassy. The flowers got swiftly removed.

  2. That’s disgusting…. I love it!

To add, I am however sure we can all understand and appreciate many of the Russian men Putin is throwing in the grinder are neither pro war or even have a clue where they are or what they’re doing there, many weren’t even born when the Soviet Union existed!

  3. You can’t really blame the normal Russian in Russia. They have no free media anymore, seriously restricted access to information online, are blasted with propaganda everywhere they go, and get arrested or sanctioned if they even talk about the war.

But Russians (and other people) in other countries, who have access to all the information and still support the Russian regime and this violent war, I have neither sympathy nor respect for.

  4. Lithuania is fucking boss. They dont bow down to neither russia nor china. I love that. EU needs to become like lithuania.

  5. Pro-Putin right-wing idiots utilizing this is bad, but I also think that displaying tanks like this one publicly without any practical regard for the fact that russian soldiers likely died in there is not right. I think this dehumanizes the russian soldiers in general, and while we should not fall into the trap of portraying them all as innocent victims of Putin’s tyranny and propaganda (which would absolve them of any responsibility), this kind of message is at least skewed. I think this is a step in the wrong direction, I don’t like the general public attitude. It is tempting and (in moral terms) justified to support the Ukrainians, but we should be careful not to loose our reflected and differentiated thinking. Humanity is also the first thing to be lost in a conflict and we shouldn’t loose ours, even if some of the Russians loose theirs.

  6. Can the pro-Russian *word that will get me banned* in Lithuania even read Lithuanian? Might be worth having this sign in Russian too so that these *another word that will get me banned* can understand…

  7. Should just plaster the tank with news articles and photographs of ruined Ukranian cities. Maybe get a ruined ambulance from Ukraine and put it next to the tank for context so that people who place flowers next to it understand more clearly what they’re supporting.
