Collins lied about homeownership on planning application

  1. Is there a Dáil member of staff who hasn’t failed to disclose (lied) on their planning app or register of interests? Surely only the tea ladies are left to be audited.

Also: they should all be gone, nobody forgets that they own a house or pub and this lad actually went above and beyond with his lies by using his wife’s surname.

  2. If Damien English had to resign over the same issue then Collins should go too. Who’s in line for a promotion?

  3. When the Damien English thing came out I emailed Meath county council and asked the implications of knowingly lying on a local needs form.

They replied with extracts from the development plan that describe the local needs criteria in which they would support one off housing. They suggested that if I was planning an application that I should set up a pre-planning consultation.

However, they never answered my question.

  4. Anyone who gets caught lying about ownership of ANY assets should be sacked without pension. It’s fucking rediculous at this stage.

  5. Yet the prick was on Monday with Katie Hannon (or whatever it’s called) 2 weeks ago parroting the property rights are sacrosanct line on the eviction ban debate.

  6. Ah Niall Collins. For those unfamiliar with him and his family some highlights from his wikipedia page.

“His grandfather James Collins represented Limerick West in the Dáil from 1948 until 1967. His uncle Gerry Collins is a former Minister and MEP, who was a TD for Limerick West from 1967 to 1997. Another uncle, Michael J. Collins, sat for Limerick West in the Dáil from 1997 until he retired in 2007. (Niall) Collins was first elected to Dáil Éireann at the 2007 general election for Limerick West.

75 years straight of the state paying money to his family. Irelands version of the Kennedy family except Niall has the charisma of an undercooked turnip.

  7. The house he owned on Fr Russell rd was adjacent to a small public green area…. he tried to pull a fast one and claim it, neighbours complained, he was turned down. Guy is a chancer!

  8. Lies on housing need planning applications are commonplace. I’d wager a sizeable proportion of tds will be keeping the head down on this issue

  9. As bad as this is. This article was written by a gut who defaulted on his rent making him his wife and at least on child homeless

  10. It was an omission , if you do. It accept that then it was a error and anyone can make a mistake so it’s really our fault for not understanding what happened and just instead give him a hug as we are all in this together – My arse

  11. Niall is what you called a fireman politician he never sorts anything buts he’s great at stopping discontent from spreading. The business rates issue in co limerick is a prime example. Bullshit merchant.
