Another example of Paddy Cosgrave being a true socialist
If you're approached by these clowns – @WebSummit – and they ask you to moderate at their forthcoming conferences in Toronto & Lisbon, my advice is to ignore. They don't pay any money, or cover expenses! They literally thought I would go to Canada for free for them. A new low.

Who’s guy waters? Whoever he is is looking his flight to be paid to an event he’s being asked to work at?
Is there something else?
If I’ve learned anything about Paddy, this is Leos fault.
Correct response here is to accept. Then just ghost them.

They have been doing this for years.
Better yet is the paid work aspect doesn’t come with any sort of decent pay or timelines.
They will pay as little as possible and work you to the bone with little planning
Since when is Paddy Cosgrave a socialist? He’s a business man.
Paddy has it in for the Government because they jilted him, don’t confuse that with political parties that have grievances on how the government does business. Just because they briefly overlap on their criticism of the government, doesn’t mean they’re the same.
If they wrote Paddy a big old fat check tomorrow for the web summit in Dublin I think he’d be much more favourable to them.
How else do you expect Paddy to spend €1.8m for Coolmore Manor House before getting his knicker in a twist because newspapers reported on it.
Or as he said “doxxed” him.
Everything about the whole web summit seems very scammy to me.
If you’re a business they’ll charge you thousands for a tiny little booth in a part of the convention centre that hardly anyone visits.
If you’re an attendee you’ll pay close to €1,000 for… I’m not sure to be honest. Maybe some people like going to see an actor talk about the first websites they visited or to see a sportsman who knows nothing about technology talking about cyber security or something like that.
I work for a few startups who were targeted by their marketing team and they were absolutely relentless in their hard sell implying that if the company didn’t spend something like €6,000 for a booth then the business will almost certainly fail. Their initial contacts implied that the company had been specially selected because they were special or some BS like that.
The whole enterprise is dodgy.
