It’s like having an ex-colleague having to have a last word on everything you do; he really should have some humility and just disappear into the background.
Johnson is just trying to undermine Sunak, but then so is Truss and the ERG. The amount of infighting and back stabbing in the Tory party is incredible.
I’m not surprised Boris is saying this – after all Boris delivered an oven ready deal and now Rishi is trying to fix it. Can’t have Boris shown up to be a liar by one of his successors now, can we?

TBH I was expecting Rishi to go to the EU, and get a new deal on the Protocol but I was not expecting this.
Assuming its true, then Rishi is at least trying normalise relations with the EU, build some small amount of trust, and try to ensure we dont do anything stupid to make it worse for ourselves.
This is maybe the best which we could hope from the Tory Party, I am almost pleasantly surprised.
To be clear, it is Brexit and I cant ever support it, but taking a less hostile approach to it, and taking the gun away from Westministers head (the one Westminister itself is holding), is something I can support.

Johnson both seems to want to be PM again, otherwise he would not be undermining Rishi like this, while also denying any questions about a possible return. He’s like Jiminy Cricket for Sunak at this point.
The thing is you need to remember Sunak is not PM. He is the prevent a wipe out at next election appointment.
He was not giving the job to do anything but steady the ship so the Tories don’t get wiped out next election. He will be removed after the GE and I expect Johnson will be back in.
They know they have lost the GE he will next summer announce a range of tax cuts and giveaways to try to improve they poll standing.
He will make promises they know they can’t keep and drop the keys and give it all to Labour.
When you understand his remit you can see why this NI Protocol was never going to be solved. He won’t be allowed to to make any deal the ERG et al dont agree to
