Pretty angry mofos in the spring time, if you happen to wander near their nest. Or like my mate, have his shortcut trail cut short by one. They will swoop and give you the nasty nails, first time. No warnings.
The fuzzy younglings look so stupid in the summer tho. 😀

Okay now do a Kotka in Lapland
Also seen in Central Finland. A grand owl, just resting on the branch of young pine in daylight, spotted by my then 5 yrs daughter when driving on super narrow forest road. Just for being so distinctive in a monoculture forest, to remember it for a lifetime.
