Sounds like it might’ve been breast cancer, which can happen to men too (and could do with some awareness tbh)
I met him in Bunratty Castle in 2012 when he was Taoiseach and we had a chat and a coffee. 5mins, nothing major.
I was cycling around Killary Fjord 2yrs ago and pulled in for a coffee in Leenaun. In walks Enda. Straight over to me “It’s nice but it’s no Bunratty Castle” he says.
I know its only a small thing but it kind of shows that he has a bit of decency about him to remember a nobody that he met randomly for a few mins 8yrs ago and come over to say hello.

Going to be a bit of a “Moaning Michael” here.
Never would wish ill on a person and won’t in this instance but this is the man who claimed he never received letters from any cancer patients about how delays in the HSE had resulted in their cancers progressing to the point of being inoperable. I know he got those letters as my father (RIP) was one of the people who wrote to him.
EK is a decent man for face to face conversation but a person without a shred of integrity or accountability. Had to walk out of the Gingerman one night after bumping into him after he’d had a few scoops too many, and my dad had been moved into hospice care the week before. EK was happy as Larry with 2 mates and rosy cheeked. Appreciate he’s a human at the end of the day and everyone deserves to de-stress but it was galling to see him there without a care in the world after being informed that my dad was going to die fairly soon and this “great leader” of ours had only recently denied ever getting a letter from him or any other terminal cancer patients across Ireland.
Happy he is recovering but very sad for all the people and their families who never got to have similar good news.

Politics aside, anyone who has been affected by cancer knows just how terrible and evil it is. I hope he fully recovers, there’s some absolute plonkers on this subreddit
