It’s been interesting watching the comments on this show to see how people are unable to separate out what is opinion, what was clearly staged for entertainment and what is actually a fair point. It seems an alarmingly large amount of people have just taken everything in it as gospel truth.
I don’t know what the reality is with badgers but it was pretty obvious that Jeremy Clarkson was using his show as a soapbox to give a totally one sided account.
People need to get a grip. I watched the entire series and I can only think they are deliberately misconstruing what was said as they were obviously jokes that were in-character for Clarkson. Even his voice changes when he’s making those kinds of jokes. And it was perfectly clear the badgers’ welfare was protected.
Anyone who actually watched the show would also be left asking why they can do literally nothing about the TB-positive badgers setting up home around their farm. Why prioritise the badger’s lives over cows?
In the show, the locals actually look like bigger cunts than Jezza.
Great propaganda for him. Obviously theres a balance to be struck.
What are we going to do about badgers? Surely we can round them up and inoculate them?
Clarkson’s farm isn’t a documentary. It very much is Jeremy’s soap box where he can harp on about his latest irritation without the need for fact checking, just so long as he’s entertaining and gives people a chuckle.
I take Clarkson’s farm about as seriously as the teletubbies. Yes, some of the things he says are real problems that real people face, but it would be daft to use his program to form an opinion about something that matters.
Just as an example, there was zero coverage on the program of efforts being made to address the issues. It was all “regulation is bad, i should have more freedom to do whatever. Vague ageist sentiments against young people that are more capable than me.”
Jeremy Clarkson criticised for breathing too loudly at funeral.
Badgers aren’t even remotely threatened, no idea why they are so well protected. Also Jeremy was clearly joking.
Well at least he didn’t suggest shooting all the deer, they are just as bad for TB.So…..good job he’s paying a knowledgeable Consultant to watch over him.He admits he knows/knew f-all about farming, so he would be relying on the professionals.
(I don’t think his coments will inspire anyone to go out and shoot badgers)
Don’t make jokes Jeremy. People don’t have the intellectual sophistication to tell when you are joking and when you are not. Makes for a much more bland show though.
I watched this and it was hilarious, It was obviously done for laughs. If he was serious theirs no way it would be in the final cut.

Only speaking what many farmers think

Nothing at all about this:
