Anti homeless benches in Gliwice. What do you think about them

  1. Nothing.

Prolly better if they don’t sleep at the station…

  2. Hostile design. There’s a special place in hell for people designing those things.

I still remember my night on the bench in Paris.

  3. I like it. These benches should be used to sit and enjoy leisure time, not to camp. Homeless folks can go to shelters, most bigger towns and all cities have them.

  4. I give thumbs up to any idea of removing homeless from such areas. Most aport benches also facilitate some kind of anti-sleeping feature.

  5. It is easy to hate them when it is not your bus stop that is occupied 24/7 by a local hobo.

  6. So benches should be homeless friendly? So this is how we should fix the homeless problem? Should there be a toilet paper next to the every tree? No.

  7. There are various places dedicated to help homeless people in Poland, both in the short and the long run. Public benches are not such places.

  8. I don’t know about homeless, but this helps with the people occupying the whole bench by sitting in the middle of it.

  9. The biggest irony about this is, the benches are on Gliwice CP. Which to be built required to destroy a place for homeless to stay, coz it was in a way.

  10. *Sir, after we installed the antiżul devices the żuls are not multiplying anymore. *

  11. I would definitely feel safer if there was actually a problem with homeless people sleeping there. There are places where they can go sleep in most bigger cities, but they need to be sober for that.

  12. Actually as a Gliwice citizen I haven’t seen a lot of hobos sleeping on bus stops (maybe the problem is bigger in some parts of city) but I think that there is a lot of better places to sleep than a bench in public place. Those are not just homeless people that are sleeping on benches. They are usually alcoholics and sometimes can even be dangerous. If they need a place to sleep there are shelters for homeless people but they you must stop drinking if you want to sleep there.

  13. Anybody here who is all for benches to be beds for homeless actually met a polite homeless person? Because the homeless people I know openly turn down food and beg for money for alcohol. Or last week I had to call security on a man who was harassing shop assistants for free lighters because he didn’t have anything to light a cigarette with. Another homeless guy always gets alcohol at our shop.

  14. What I think is that there is a homeless shelter LITERALLY 350 meters from the bench on this picture. There’s no reason someone has to sleep on it. Also the station is semi closed at night anyway, and security will ask you to leave if you hang around without a ticket for an upcomming train.

  15. Its better you dont fall when you sleep jyz stay under this peace in the middle

  16. That’s just lumbar support. But no it’s actually pretty gross imo

  17. They even have a chess club and a library at my local asylum. gentlemen sit on benches in the evenings and discuss (probably no one would have known that they were homeless if not for the circumstances). The only requirement is 0 alcohol and a minimum of culture. If someone in Poland sleeps on a bench, it means that they really earned it. All the homeless people I met during my 25 years of living in Poland were agresive, drunk and even dangerous (Not to mention biological hazard). It’s good that they are removed from the public space

  18. Despite all the efforts there’s a lot of hobos in CP especially during night. Sometimes it’s astonishing how they smell with alcohol.

  19. Stinky, drunk, homeless man is the last thing i need in the public

  20. They seems not as bad as the ones in Kraków on the “Kraków Główny” train station. They made the seats curved so homeless people can’t sleep on them, but the designer made it so badly that even if you normally sit down your butt starts sliding down. I would actually pay to slap the designer in the fuckng face for this abomination.

  21. There are shelters and organizations dedicated to helping homeless in Poland. Benches are not made to sleep on them

  22. Well, things specifically designed for sitting are designed specifically for sitting, there’s nothing wrong with that

  23. good, fuck patologia. this god damn country has to stop catering to the poor assholes who shit out further generations of pathological trash and focus on the population who actually contributes towards growth

  24. I’m all for them. Homeless people should sleep in shelters, not on park benches. (Yes, I agree, ideally nobody should ever be homeless; but reality is not ideal)
