Student that have been enrolled in Germany since December 1, 2022 are eligible for a one time payment of 200 euros.
In ordered to be identified as an eligible students you need to go through a bunch of steps.
The steps are listed on the website einmalpayment200.de, link can be found in the article. I would suggest to go to the link from the article to avoid any funny buisness.
The payouts starts in mid-March but you can complete the registration and verification process today itself.

You got my hopes up with weeks old information ;-;
Also, you get some information mixed up. You can’t start the registration for the one-time payment, they only advice you to sign up to the online service that will be used to apply later on in mid march. There’s no mention when anyone will get their money.
