Absolutely no surprise to see that this protestor was a member of 40 days for life and was offered legal support by Alliance Defending Freedom (ADF). ADF are active globally and are exceptionally frequently involved in anti-women’s right and anti-trans rights legal cases.
The way the media report anti-abortion protest matters. This was not just a woman who happened to be praying outside an abortion clinic facing unpredictable legal consequences. This was a member of an international organisation knowingly testing the limits of laws to protect abortion clinics.
It looks like they’ve made an enormous mistake in choosing not to prosecute her.
There’s a buffer zone for a reason. Her intention was to bully and harass vulnerable women and to intimidate them out of getting a medical procedure which they needed. It’s worrying that the authorities seem to be siding with her rather than with her victims.
An NGO just like those involved in migrant advocacy and LGBT rights, nothing illegal here.
It’s only wrong when “those” people do it.
Get an impenetrable fence around these theocrats before they overrun your health care delivery facilities. All of them. Everywhere.
