Hey guys do any of you know what this object from expo 1958 is? Received it from my grandparents

  1. It looks like an emperor’s chair that must surely come from Asia. Where are your grandparents from?

  2. It looks Chinese. Maybe part of a home altar?
    But China didn’t participate in Expo 58.

    If hand carved and legitimately more than 60 years old it could be worth a few thousand euros. Don’t count yourself a millionaire though.

  3. It looks like something with a hidden compartment that once you find it, it leads to a treasure. Like those fancy objects in the comic series Tintin or Suske & Wiske.

  4. Missing the dish this is a Chinese water table I was gifted one working for a moving company . Yours is in may better. Condition but without the dish it’s a hard sell because they are a married pair the dish is made from material in the piece to be symbolic
