So… what’s up with Christine Anderson?

Apparently, in Canada, it’s stirred up a lot of controversy, to the point where even Trudaeu’s called out the Conservative Party over there. From what I’ve gathered, she’s had a generally iffy history in Germany, ranging from anti-vaxx views, support of the Convoy Crisis last year (basically Canada’s January 6th minus the election denialism, because apparently every country needs a sociopolitical crisis in the 2020’s 🤦‍♂️), xenophobia, and even downplaying the Holocaust.

However, at least from English sources, neither the AfD nor the general German government seems to have said or done anything about her. I know the AfD party’s apparently under investigation, but beyond that, there doesn’t seem to be anything going on with her in particular.

With this in mind:

– How has the German public reacted to this (both the event and Christine in general)?

– With such an iffy history (especially in a government well known now for harboring extremism views from power, especially far-right/Nazi-like viewpoints), why hasn’t the AfD *or* the general German government done anything about it? Why has Trudeau said something but Scholz isn’t? Or are they, and I’m just unaware (i.e. currently only being reported in German sources)? Is the current investigation into AfD also a part of Christine, and her visit’s just not being brought up as a result?
