Problem is, the officers working on this investigation will also be working on lots of other investigations, so speeding up this investigation means putting others on hold.
Theres not much point until after the inquiry reports.
It’s fairly unlikely anyone will be charged with anything apart from maybe some health and safety and record keeping breaches anyway.
10 years for the inquiry. 10 more for the criminal investigation. Only then can civil cases go forwards and by then it will be too late to track any of the money down. Whoops.
