  1. They should of left it for the tourist divers. Progress requires sacrifice, as long as its not human im ok with it.

  2. Sad but not new. The government constantly tries to erase any evidence of the indigenous people that used to live there.

  3. Lots of countries have flooded settlements to build a dam. This may be the latest but there are dozens of similar occurrences in Europe and in the rest of the world. I mean it’s a shame really but this is not a first and it’s not a Turkish problem, we all did the same.

  4. How dare they try to develop sustainable energy and lift people out of poverty! Did they not consider how this might hurt the feelings of rich Europeans??

  5. If you accidentally damage something, you have just insulted the entire Turkish nation, all Turkeys everywhere. Yet when they destroy the majority of an ancient city.. welp, who cares?

  6. Given how long people have been living in Asia minor, any dam in Turkey will involve flooding something ancient.

  7. How much energy was that “ancient city” going to provide us? I bet you would be one of the first to complain if an energy shortage occurred.

As much as it sucks to see history disappear, the past shouldn’t stop us from advancing to the future
