Hasn’t this fundamentally changed the law? So a will is no longer a solid legal document if it can be perceived to be “unfair”. This is going to be a disaster.

In Scotland, a surviving spouse and children have an automatic legal right to a proportion of the estate that can’t be overridden by a will.
I thought that everything was owned 50/50 in a marriage anyway and the assets would automatically goto the partner. if they got divorced she would get half but if you die you can use a will to leave them nothing?
1m estate is basically like a 1 bedroom in Milton Keynes these days. No idea why they always decide to use stock images of huge mansions
I’d be interested to see input from someone of Asian descent. I wonder if this is ‘normal’ in such families.
