    That right there is an edemic Maltese wall lizard, we also have 5 endemic subspecies across the islands

  2. Little buzzers, they are! One came right up to my feet one summer’s day as I was walking home from the shop and had a good nose around my feet until a car drove past! I would’ve tried to pick it up had I not got shopping bags in my hand at the time. Proper friendly fellas. They remind me of a sub species of salamander.

  3. It’s actually quite typical of island species, you can look into the concept of island biogeography which is the study of how unique ecosystems and species develop on islands because of their isolation. Love that shit.
