Hi all can someone tell me what kind of connection this is? Kinda confused right now. I signed a new internet contract with yallo amd they sent me one of their home boxes, which has to be connected by cable. I don’t have such a connection in my flat. Just this one here. It doesn’t look like an OTO either. Or am I wrong? (Checked connection options. As far as I know, we do not have fibre optics).
Thanks in Advance!
looks like some kind of 2-wire bus connectors. Never seen them here in Switzerland.
It’s typical in Swiss nursing homes and some offices. It’s cable telephone and might be internet too. We have them at a nursing home here alot.
It’s called BKS Homenet and you need specially adapters to use it or might even need to switch out the socket depending on what you want to use it for.
There should be a junction box where you can see and add signals to the net, ranging from Audio and TV to Gigabit Ethernet.
It’s a bit shit for upgrades tho and the adapters don’t like being plugged in and out a lot.
Edit:
You have the old style 4-chamber socket there just FYi
Seemed like a great idea in 2006. Not sure they kept up with modern standards tho
Best way to find out is sticking your finger in it
