I don’t know that this sounds that outrageous. The Council Chief executive signed off yeah, but the planner recommended it and it has now survived a challenge to ABP. While Glenveagh is her adult sons employer, there’s no indication that he was involved with this particular project, and it sounds like he’s relatively junior.
If one of either the Chief overruling the planner or ABP finding against the project occurred then I could see why questions would be raised. Or if the Chief’s spouse was the one working for Glenveagh in a senior role.
The appeal against it was because it wasn’t enough houses rather than not being an appropriate site etc.
Seems like yet another reach from the ditch.
