But there is no valid reason not to receive equality. If we are told to believe we already have it… then when we’re denied equality, we’re gaslit into thinking there must be a valid reason, or we misunderstand the situation, or or or….
Equality is something you’re expected to give. It’s expected that you look at everyone else and consider them your equal, and nothing about their person changes this. As such, equality is a transaction. And one should ask: why is this transaction refused?
That is a more useful framework for thinking about the concept of equality and the real events of the world, in which equality gets denied, but people gaslight you into thinking that’s not what happened, or there must be a valid reason, etc…
It’s actually quite worrying to see how N-VA and BDW in particular is re-hashing the USA and UK politics of the 1980’s.
For those too young to know about that: this has all happened before. And the results were absolutely disastrous. This is a preparatory stage for the rich to steal from the poor and then create an atmosphere of “you get what you worked for”, in an attempt to blame those who were stolen from.
This is one of the most basic facts in psychology and evolutionary biology.

Anyone noticing how NVA is trying to create a public debate about whatever for the last couple of weeks. Coincidentally their Flemish minster president Jambon is failing. Surely NVA isn’t trying to distract people from their failings by stirring up a public debate about something completely different.
Who cares? Even were this true, I thought we lived in a society where we are, within reason and within the law, allowed to live as we please? Would it matter if we went against our own ‘biological programming?’
The guy succeeded today in comparing Bart De Pauw and how he was ‘cancelled’ with the people going to fight in Syria in his anti-woke rambling (but what about…). Is he really trying to defend a convicted stalker who tried to pull the victim card and even tried to attack the victims during his defense by comparing him to Syria fighters? In every newspaper he got a big piece where he could spew his bitterness because of the book he wrote about it. This is the example he uses to show woke is evil?
He’s throwing everything slightly progressive onto the same woke pile and in the same sentence he’s blaming woke for polarizing our society. Like woke is one and the same big secret organisation destroying everything good we had.
The mayor of the biggest city of our country was able to write his opinion about #woke and get it published in two months while Europe is facing it’s biggest crisis in years and his Flemish governement is failing to deliver on every big topic. Meanwhile he didn’t have time to be present in the Chambre.

I know reddit skews pretty hard left and dislikes the guy but lot of commenters here are unaware that what he says is true and has been an observed phenomenon in sociology.
Look up the Nordic Gender Equality Paradox. As societies get more socially egalitarian between men and women, the bigger the gap between interest in jobs grow, not shrink. It’s explained as if you remove the social pressure to push people into certain interests, the only things that are left to dictate a person interest are the Big 5 which are varying between men and women, ergo biology.
It’s not because it’s a guy you hate that what he says in that quote is untrue.
