Judge rules against Vitals & Steward, in favour of Adrian Delia, in the hospital court case. Court has ordered all contracts awarded to Vitals & Steward to be nullified and all property to be returned to the government

  1. This is a very rare win for Delia. I don’t like him or his politics but he was 100% in the right here. There is no reason why these shoddy contracts should ever hold ground. And in this post-COVID society, we should be even more wary about corrupt deals involving hospitals.

Interestingly the government’s statement on this matter is:

    >“The Government is analyzing this sentence, and in any eventuality it will ensure that it protects the national interest, the jobs of all workers, and all the services that patients receive from hospitals, which are the fruits of the concession about which the deferred judgment was given.”

What a non-statement. They can’t even admit they fucked up and let a known corrupt, inept cunt speer this deal through. Fuck them too

  2. All this happened before I landed on Malta… but it is my firm beleive that “privatization” is never about better service for customers… it is always about fatter profits for “friends”. Effectively it is ALWAYS about corruption.

So I am happy to see this particular example been reversed.

  3. Not to be a wet blanket here, but did we really need this ruling to know that the government is corrupt? and the one before it? and the one before that one? You might say that now we have proof, but did we really need the courts to get proof? It was so blatantly obvious.

Yet, they are still voted in power. What should they do? Not run for the election? It has always amazed me how the Maltese citizens still manage to vote for these corrupt bunch. Since day fucking one we knew it. KonRat Mizzi back in 2013 saying how he can do a power station within a year? It smelled like corruption even then. Public procurement is so laborious it would have taken at least 10 years including appeals! Yet, they were voted into power. Blame yourself, sheep. I know I don’t blame myself for this one or for any other corruption case that involved the PL.

  4. Great. Now that we have established that fraud took place when will those responsible to hanged, drawn and quartered ?? The population has suffered and continues to suffer for their crimes.

And their crimes included premeditated murder and sabotage of the murder investigation.

Where are the police to investigate the money laundering they were caught red handed doing? In Malta if you try to withdraw money you will get threats and harassment from the bank, and old people in homes have their accounts terminated and cannot afford to access 10 euros.

So much for those who thought that joining Europe would change anything. And I throw Europe in because there are two types of people who are pro EU. Those that want to leave their countries and those who think joining the EU will change anything.

But all the EU has done is fuel corruption. Don’t forget that Muscat was forged in Brussels and when the bankrupt Labour Party all of a sudden had friends and money to spend and an EU government to take over, Muscat promised he would only stay in power for two terms. Conveniently that would make him available just in time for the role of presidency of the EU.

So as you can see, it’s really one big beautiful democratic cluster fuck complete with blue and yellow stars.

  5. Also, why are the Law Courts doing the work of the police here? (rhetoric question)

Usually, there is suspicion on someone, police do their detective work, they take them to court, court decides if guilty or not. In this case, the Court decided they’re guilty and now every MP is asking the police to prosecute. WHAT A FUCKING JOKE OF A CUNTRY.

  6. A landmark case. There’s still a long way to go but one can rest easy today knowing that this atrocious deal must be rescinded.

I urge all of you to read the Judge’s remarks once they’re uploaded on eCourts. It’s full of scathing criticism that’ll make you laugh and cry at the same time.

  7. Don’t want to be a wet blanket here, guys, but there is still the possibility (probability really) of the concessionaires filing an appeal. We’re not out of the woods yet.

  8. The problem is that 1. Labour voters know that Labour is corrupt and will still vote for them out of spite and 2. PN is 20 years behind on social issues and cannot connect with the current voting population.

Konrad won’t face the music, sadly. Neither will Muscat. They will go down in history as the saviours of the Labour Party not as the most corrupt and criminal government in Maltese history. History is written by the victors indeed.

  9. Joseph muscat and robert abela along with their corruption & the type of things the hardcore labour supportor (or even ppl in general) are ok with are easily the worst thing to happen to malta since adolf hitler.
