It makes me both proud and deeply sad to see these type of images. Proud because this Europe that was a meat grinder for centuries, a giant battlefield and later the motor of colonialism now stands as a symbol of Freedom and something to aspire to for those opressed. And yet sad because 99% of Europeans aren’t aware nor really care that much. We should be a lot more confident and “hawkish”.
