> Projections created internally by ExxonMobil starting in the late 1970s on the impact of fossil fuels on climate change were very accurate, even surpassing those of some academic and governmental scientists,
Any politician arguing man made climate change isnt real is either a useful idiot or in the pay of the fossil fuel lobby.
20%? I think it might end up being more than that when every low-lying city is at regular threat of tidal flooding…
building foundations for houses on slopes = using more materials = less profit.
best we can do is build more houses on more floodplains.
Shame we can’t claim EU disaster relief as insurance for our shoddy practice anymore 🙁
That lovely flat land by the river bank. Don’t build on that because nature has earmarked that for overflow.
Also all new builds should include mandatory water storage which can be used for non-drinking water. Because after every rainy winter we’re going to have summer droughts. Flushing our toalets with treated drinking water is crazy.
Can’t wait for the floods to be branded as Woke by the Tory party and their cronies.
The UK Gov should do a huge volunteering push in cities for river widening projects. Expanding lakes, deepening rivers, and grant emergency permission for that reservoir in the South East that the Lib NIMBY Dems blocked recently.
The chance to prevent these issue down the line is now.

This article must be lies, I’ve been assured by members of parliament that this ‘green crap’ isnt true:
Philip Davies (Con): Does my hon. Friend acknowledge that although the issue used to be called “global warming”, when the globe stopped warming the [fanatics](https://hansard.parliament.uk/Commons/2013-09-10/debates/13091045000001/ClimateChangeAct) changed the name to “climate change” because nobody can ever deny that the climate changes?
Philip Davies (Con): The total amount of warming that we are talking about is some 0.8° C; it is a [very small amount](https://hansard.parliament.uk/Commons/2013-09-10/debates/13091045000001/ClimateChangeAct) in the scheme of things.
David TC Davies (Con): It is time for the Government to stop pandering to green ideology, and recognise it for [codswallop](https://conservativehome.com/2013/06/08/from-davidtcdavies-its-time-to-stand-up-to-the-the-bullying-green-hypocrites/) it really is. There are gaping holes in the theory that man made CO2 is the cause of the less than one degree increase in average global temperatures over the last 300 years. These have been well set out by Lord Lawson.
The [oil companies themselves](https://news.harvard.edu/gazette/story/2023/01/harvard-led-analysis-finds-exxonmobil-internal-research-accurately-predicted-climate-change/) knew they were causing climate change.
