  1. Those greedy consultants don’t they know those poor doctors are striking.

Those greedy doctors don’t they know those poor nurses are striking.

Those greedy nurses don’t they know those poor paramedics are striking.

Those greedy….. hmm at which point do we actual admit that a lot of the funding going into the NHS is going straight back out to private companies or is everybody greedy apart from MPs.

  2. Junior doctor pay has dropped 26%, consultants have had it much worse, some calculations I’ve seen put it at 35%. That is absolutely insane. Their earnings used to be in the same ballpark as other professionals, now a graduate working in management consultancy for a few years can outearn a neurosurgeon.

Being a consultant used to be a job for life, now it’s more and more common for them to quit their roles and do something else/move overseas. Not surprising as they’re treated MUCH better there:

  3. I’ve been waiting for an op for over a year. I have been told several times by NHS staff that delays are because most of the consultants work privately, and only do partial work for the NHS, thus the delays mount up and up.
