Is good to see governments protecting products. Swiss chocolate is known for its quality. It should also be made in Switzerland to be called Swiss chocolate. Irish whiskey also needs the same level of protection from the Irish government.
I didn’t realize Toblerone was owned by Mondelez. I’m much less excited about the product now.
Good. Toblerone is an insult to Swiss chocolate, I always cringe when someone abroad says they’ve tried “premium swiss chocolate” and when I ask them which one they show me their Toblerone package
The new mountain is literally just a triangle
How shortsighted of Mondelez. I wonder if the cost savings really compensate for the damage to the brand.
It’s sad to see what fucking american neo liberalism made with iconic product that doesn’t have any competition on this world
It will still be associated with Switzerland which is all Mondelez needs to keep its selling point
Those guys today: „doesn’t matter! People buy our chocolate because it tastes awesome, not because of overrated ‚Swissness‘ or anything“
Those guys in 20 years: „We must declare bankruptcy. Nobody really is at fault here, except the customer who doesn’t value our chocolate enough.“
Goodbye to the Matterhorn and Toblerone Instagram images.
